Some time to catch up

It seems like the last two weeks have lasted two months. Since the last self-esteem makeover post was made on Day 3 (Wednesday) I will post Day 4 tomorrow so that we can pick right back up where we left off. I hope that's okay with all of you. If you want Day 4 & 5 now, just drop a comment with your email address and I will send them both to you.

Destiny is sleeping now and I am pretty much caught up on my work so I thought that I would stop in for an update post.

Last Wednesday, Vaughn and I got in the car for a drive to Branson for the Conklin convention. (I must stop here and say a word of thanks to God for blessing us with this company and these trips that we would never be able to make on our own.) We stopped in OKC to see the kids and to meet our new granddaughter, Alexandria. (I will post pictures of her and our trip tomorrow.) The kids asked us to bring Destiny home with us for a little while because they were simply overwhelmed. Living with his mom and her 4 kids and trying to care for a newborn and a two year old of their own has poor Carrie just exhausted. We were happy to agree and to get to spend some time with our granddaughter.

We stayed the night there in the city with my good friend Sharon. She is that friend that the Bible talks about in Proverbs 18:24 "A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother." She truly is a great friend.

Went went on to Branson on Thursday. Spent some time with our Conklin friends and heard Dr. Bruce Wilkinson (author of Prayer of Jabez and The Dream Giver) and S. Truett Cathey (founder and CEO of Chick-fil-A) speak. They were both highly inspiring.

We stayed with Sharon again on the way home, as the weather was bad and Destiny was just tired of being in the car, and once again I enjoyed my precious time with her. We drove through some thick, beautiful snow on our way home and are really glad that the weekend is over.

I want to say thank you so much to my friends who have loaned us some things for Destiny while she is here. Becky, for the loan of the high chair. Bridey, for the bed. I'm sure there are others that I can't think of right now, but thank you all. Please pray that she continues to adjust as well as she has and that this time together is enjoyable and stress free.
