Sewing - Vest & Dress

Last night I made Vaughn this vest to go with his suit for our Conklin banquet in Branson next month. It's not done yet, still have to install button holes and buttons. The only problem is that my thread is nesting underneath my fabric. Someone suggested that it may be my needle since adjusting the tension didn't help. If anyone else has any other ideas, I would definately welcome them.

UPDATE I tried several things and kinda got my machine to working right again. The tension was all messed up, I think the tension discs may have been sitting funny. I used dental floss and cleaned in between them, and that helped some. I got Vaughn's vest finished and still have enough fabric left to make a handkerchief. Once I get the jacket for my dress finished, I will be taking my sewing machine in for a tune-up.

I also made this dress for myself the other night. Ignore that crease below the midriff that looks like a seam, it was just from where I had the fabric folded. It has been ironed. The only thing left to do now it is to be hemmed. I will get that done in a few weeks by a professional because I don't have enough faith in myself for that. I am also hoping that I will need to take it in a bit, but if not, that will be okay, I have only just begun my new exercise regimen.

The next project is the jacket to go with my dress, it is a beautiful deep rose colored fabric with green paisley. I will post pictures of both complete outfits once they are complete. I still have to find shoes!!!
