Book Review: No More Christian Nice Girl

I have had the opportunity to review another book from Bethany House Publishers through the book review blogger program.

This book is laid out in a pleasing way, with type that is easy to read and a nice, comfortable format. Jennifer D. Degler and Paul Coughlin talk to you in the book, making it an easy read. It's like having a conversation with a friend.

My husband and I kid each other that I have a "hippie love Jesus" while he has a "chicken-throwing, table upsetting Jesus" and this book basically stepped on both our toes. It reminds us that you can't have one without the other. It reminds us that if we don't have the whole picture of who Jesus is, then we can't possibly follow Him or strive to be like Him.

This book reminds us that, while we are called to be a servant, we are not called to be taken advantage of. It is okay to be strong and loving, serve, yet stand up for yourself, and firm but giving.

If you're like me, you want to serve everyone and allow that feeling to make you into a doormat. You don't have to be a doormat to be a servant. The Lord used this book to set me free from some personal bondage. He can do the same for you.

I have already given this book as a gift to other women and will continue to! Thank you, Bethany House, for the opportunity to review this book.
