Vision

Hello! Remember me? I'm that girl who hasn't blogged in a hundred years. Well, I have been on hiatus from many things, seeking God's vision for my future. It seems that now is the time to bring it to light, as our Pastor spoke on vision yesterday and through prayer and the support of my loving husband, my vision has been confirmed.

My ministry is the children. Jesus tells us in Matthew 19:14 to allow the children to come to Him, He says "forbid them not". Jesus said that the Kingdom belongs to them. He also tells us to "raise up our children in the ways of the Lord" in Proverbs 22:6. He gives us a promise here that if we do, they will not depart from it. It is my ministry to help parents to obey this command and obtain this promise and here's where my vision comes in.

Plans have begun and some time in 2011, I will reopen Butterfly Babies childcare in my home. Why that name? Well it was the name I had before, but there is so much more to it than that. I love butterflies because they are such a beautiful picture of the love of Christ. So many people dwell on the cross as the picture of Christ's love for us, but His great love goes much, much farther than that...beyond that to the empty tomb.

Like a caterpillar going into the cocoon, Jesus mortal body was buried in the tomb, but also like this amazing bug, He did not stay there. He emerged, still a man, but yet our God and the Victor over death. He beat the one thing that separates us from the love of God and rose again, to give us life everlasting. So while I could go with a whole new name for my daycare, the butterfly portrays an image I choose to daily hold fast to, so I will hold to the name as well and use it to teach that message that we are given in 2 Cor. 5:17, "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." New, like the butterfly, we are given a fresh start, walking in the Spirit.

As a registered home provider, I will be able to encourage children, in a small group setting, and their families to trust and grow in Christ and in His love. I will have Bible based, preschool curriculum that teaches the preschool basics as well as Bible basics and social basics. Vaughn and I are excited to begin this new chapter of service.

I ask that you join me in prayer as Vaughn and I set out in the endeavor to join God in His work in and through us?

Thank you, Becky. We have done the research and there is definately a need here in Borger. We know that Borger is our mission field and blessed just to be able to serve. Our prayers are with our friends serving in Asia as well.

Joce, I am blessed to have such an encouraging friend. I love you too!
