Holiday Weekend

The weekend is almost upon us. The last three day weekend of the summer. What do you have planned?

I was invited to Talequah to a Cherokee Stomp Dance, but unfortunately won't be able to make it. I do, however, have some plans. Hopefully, we will be able to get some work done in the bathroom. I have a guy coming to look at the kitchen floor, hopefully he will want to scrape that linoleum off so I won't have to. Ugh, its a mess!

I have been doing some decorating in the living room. I can't wait to move the sofa over there. So exciting. I am so ready to move in.

Monday, though, Monday is the day I look forward to. You see, I have a friend, well I have several really, but this one in particular, we have been friends since the first day of High School. We were in the same homeroom and journalism. We had many classes together over the next four years and I even graduated in her mother's shoes.

Before my son was born she bought him an outfit, the outfit he wore home from the hospital. She and I shared the loss of a very good friend who left this world way too soon for us. We share a love for horses and most things pertaining to them. She was there the day I broke my leg...or rather, the day Redbud broke my leg.

I have a few women who I can honestly call true friends and she is one of them. So Monday, we are taking some much needed girl-time. We are going to shut out the world and do some catching up.

I challenge you to do the same. Put the world on hold for a minute, call up an old friend. Grab a cup of coffee or whatever and pull out the old yearbooks, the old shoebox full of notes passed between classes, the photo albums and take a stroll down memory lane. Be a kid again for a minute. Giggle. I dare ya!

Have a great weekend! If I can pray for you, please let me know.

Yeah, next time we'll have to pop some popcorn and dig out "life"
