You have heard me speak recently of our granddaughter, Destiny Marie. I haven't spoken much about this, but I am asking for prayer so I thought I would go a little more into detail.
Those of you who know me well, know that she was born with a heart condition. Well, actually, she has two conditions Pulmonary Valve Stenosis and Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD) (each condition is clickable so that you may go to a pediatrics website and read about the condition if you would like to better understand). Destiny is going to need surgery for these very soon.
I have been praying very hard for some help because we are in a strange situation. Destiny is in our care here in Texas, her medicaid is in Oklahoma and her doctors are in Colorado. I have found a pediatric cardiologist in Amarillo who will see her and who accepts Oklahoma medicaid, the only problem is that she needs an Oklahoma Medicaid referral. We are still working on that...BUT...while I was allowing God to do what He needs to do, a friend came to visit me.
My friend said that he is a Mason and that he will recommend her for care at the Shriner's hospital. This is such a huge answer to prayer from a place we never would have thought of.
Will you please pray for Destiny and for her doctors as we set out on this journey together?
Update: While we wait for the nomination to the Shriner's, God has provided even more blessings!!!! The Medicaid that Destiny has in Oklahoma does not require a referral, so there is nothing stopping her from seeing the cardiologist. God is so good!!!! Our first appointment is March 2nd. Please pray that when the doctor does his tests that Destiny's heart is healthy and they find no need for surgery?
